The Vintage Salt and Pepper Shakers I Didn’t Buy

As I walked through the neighborhood yard sales last weekend, I did not find that many interesting items up for sale.  There was the usual array of junk that was received as gifts and then thrown into drawers and closets.  Nothing too much to get excited about on the whole.  It is funny how you can start to be able to evaluate a sale within seconds after you have practiced for a while.

There was one exception that I actually did not take advantage of to my regret.  I saw a large collection of vintage salt and pepper shakers being sold for just thirty dollars.  I told myself to check on it on the way out of the sale and moved on.  By the time I returned, the collection had been sold and taken away by some other buyer.  I am sure that the value of the entire set was much more than the selling price.
