Lean To Greenhouse Construction
If you want to grow vegetable earlier in the spring and later in the fall then you must use some sort of a greenhouse. A greenhouse will protect the plants from frost and cold while letting the sun’s heat and light in. A great way to enjoy gardening is to build a lean to greenhouse on the south facing wall of your house.
These are easy to construct. Just build a frame of 2×4’s and cover the frame with plastic sheeting or an acrylic sheet. You don’t want to use glass because that actually cuts down on the efficiency of the light. A lightly opaque covering will scatter the light at actually hit more of the plant leaves.
If you build a small lean to green house you can just lean it away from the wall when it is time to work the ground or pick the delicious veggies.
