Solar garden lighting has come a long way but it still has a long way to go. At least if you buy the cheap stuff it won’t work. You have to pay a little more than that to get something that will actually work. Home Depot and Lowe’s will be happy to sell you utter garbage in the hope that you won’t bother to return it.
This is a major part of most retailers’ business plan these days. It’s called “getting one over on you”. Nevertheless, if you get some better garden lighting you won’t regret it. It will run on its own solar power and will look just darling honey. Everyone will want to know how you did it. Your neighbors will marvel at the marvelous house that is yours.
Creative garden lighting doesn’t have to be too difficult to achieve, and doesn’t require huge amounts of effort on your part to see a plan through to completion. The only things you need to do is to awaken the sleeping design artist that’s within you, and apply some good old fashioned logic to the process. Outdoor garden lighting is usually the brainchild of a single ‘designer’, but if you are struggling in this department, take inspiration from the environment around you. I don’t mean just copy a neighboring garden design, but you could choose the bits you like from say 5 or 6 different gardens and combine them to come up with the perfect design. Ultimately, the more effort you put into you design in the early stages, the more pleasure you will get the the garden is finished.
