When choosing luxurious bedding most people look closely at the thread count. This is generally a great indicator of the quality of your sheets and linen but can sometimes be deceptive. This is because people usually ignore the ply.
Ply refers to the amount of thread twisted together to create a fiber that is used to make a fabric. A 1000TC sheet can sometimes be just a 330TC that is 3 ply, or even a 250TC that is 4 ply. This is not always a bad thing as the higher the ply the heavier and thicker a sheet will become. This can be quite useful in the winter months.
Always be sure to check the ply count as well as the thread count when buying your luxury bed linen.
