Your Auto Body Engine
An engine is a power source that will turn something. In an automobile the engine turns parts in the transmission that passes it on to the wheels. A transmission converts an engines power to a useable force. Engines are made of many moving pieces that add to the performance. Without an engine a car or pickup could not move.
Engines need a fuel source to operate. This fuel source can be derived from many things. There are three main sources of fuel for your automobile, gas, diesel, and alcohol. These fuels have different effects on the environment as well as your engine. Alcohol is the hottest and cleanest burning fuel of the three; it is also the hardest on your engine. Diesel is the easiest burning fuel on your engine. Engines today can come with an electric backup motor. This motor runs off batteries and will power your car in certain circumstances.
Engines are built for economical goals and for power and performance. They come in many different sizes. There are small 2 cylinder engines up to high performance engines that have 12 cylinders for cars and pickups today. The 2 cylinder engine is very economical to operate why the 8 and 12 cylinder engines offer superior performance. Some people like to save money while others like the power that big engine gives them.
Each engine cylinder has a piston that goes up and down by a rod turning on a shaft. There is a series of valves that open and close allowing fuel in and exhaust out. There is spark and an explosion of burning fuel in the cylinder that rotates the engine.
Engines are the power source that operates everything in your car, pickup, SUV or van. It makes your tires rotate so you can move. The belt system powers items like air conditioning, power steering, alternators, and water pumps. These parts go on to power everything in your vehicle. Without an engine an automobile would be useless. A well working auto body engine is a must in the transportation world.
