If your workplace uses identification security cards and security swipe devices, you know there’s nothing more frustrating than having to swipe a card numerous times a day.  Even though it’s supposed to be a quick process, a security swipe can take up valuable time during the day.  This is especially true if you’re using a badge accessory that does not allow for efficient use of your id card.

Many employers offer their workers plastic badge holders to protect and display their id cards.  While these holders work fine for protection and display, they are a hassle to work with when you need to swipe your id card.  Since most of these holders are either clipped or pinned to a shirt, you’re required to undo the clip or pin, take out the id from the holder, and finally swipe your id card.  Afterwards, the id has to be replaced in the holder and attached back to your clothing.  It doesn’t take many swipes during the day for this to become a huge time sink and a frustrating process.

The solution to this timely process comes in the form of a retractable badge holder.  With this item, the holder is actually attached to a retractable reel that allows you to pull the id badge away from its resting place.  After finishing the swipe of your id card, you can let go of the id card and it will return to its place when the reel cord retracts back.  This can save you valuable time during the day and limit frustration stemming from security devices.

Retractable holders come at a fairly reasonable cost so they make for a great time saving investment.  Most retractable reels can be used with existing badge accessories like plastic holders or neck lanyard so that you don’t have to change the way your currently display your id badge.  This makes adding a retractable holder a no brainer.
