Profile of An Airedale Terrier

Date: 20 May 2009 Comments: 0

Known as a spunky, sweet breed of dog, the Airedale Terrier is a dog designed for work and can be found on police forces all over the United Kingdom.

Despite its "family friendly" looks, this is not a family dog. Airedale Terriers were designed to be stand-alone hunters and this gives them an independent intelligence. Obedience training can be very difficult for the inexperienced owner for this dog breed can decide to end a training session went it decides that it has learned enough for the day. But for those that can handle the dominance issues of this dog, it can make a wonderful companion for at heart, the Airedale Terrier is a playful, full of humor pet that is loyal to its master.

Of note, for those that want to breed Airedales, the mothers tend to leave their puppies at an early age.
