Before buying a new television, research should be done. Today there are several choices; you can buy lcd tv, plasma tv, and hd tv. Best Quality Picture

The Panasonic series TC-PVT20/25, was found to be the best lcd tv to buy.  This offers outstanding 2D HDTV quality and state of the art 3D capabilities (glasses are included). This TV offers top level performance, an antiglare screen, and improved sound and is priced in the $1,800 to $2,600 range.

Running a close second and also featuring the 3D quality is the Samsung PNC7000 series. This is a reasonably priced television with the 3D option that has both two dimensional and three dimensional clarity comparable to no others.  This series ranges from $1,300 to $1,600.

Also performing well in consumer testing was the LG Infinia 50PK950. This option has sleek styling, brilliant color, a Magic Wand remote control, and interactive elements and is reasonably priced between $1,000 and $1,400.

Best Value

The best value for its picture quality, size and other features was found to be the Vizio VF552XVT.  This large 55 inch lcd does not have the 3D features, but is able to download internet information.  The price for this television is approximately $1,900.

For a smaller lcd, the Samsung LN40C630 was found to be the best value and has a picture that is brilliantly clear.  This 40 inch lcd is the series smallest, but can also be found in larger sizes, up to 60 inches.  It is priced in the $800 range which is an extraordinary value in relation to other televisions of the same size.
