If you are dealing with a new concrete slab floor in your garage you should wait at least two months for the concrete to cure before you attempt to apply any coatings.

If your floor can not accept an epoxy based coating the best choice is a latex paint made specifically for garage floors. You will need to put a protective coating over the paint to make it durable.

Garage floor coatings not only make your garage more attractive, they also provide protective benefits. Painting the floor seals the concrete which prevents cracking and make clean up easier.
