Consolidating Credit Card Debt

July 3rd, 2009

If you have credit card debt then you have nothing to be ashamed of. You are just one of millions of other Americans that face the same problem. You face the same letters and harassing phone calls all day long. The good news is that you can do something to fix your situation. Consolidating credit card debt can help you get back on your feet and start down a new path.

First you need to find your cards with the highest balances and highest interest rates. Focus on paying these cards off first since they are costing you the most money in interest.

If you can, try to transfer balances from high interest cards to lower interest cards. This is one thing you can do that will immediately start saving you money and will help you sleep a bit better at night.
