Cloth or Disposable Diapers?
Parents have a tough decision facing them today. While the options for diapers have increased, so has the stress for parents. Which are better, cloth or disposable? The factors that should go into this decision are cost, comfort, and convenience.
First, what is your budget for diapers? Does it allow for a cleaning service for cloth diapers? If not, what is the cost of your time that you will spend laundering the cloth option? Second, what is your baby’s skin sensitivity? Some disposable diapers have super gels that can pull away moisture from the skin which can help keep babies dry and rash-free, but might also cause skin irritation. Some cloth diapers are saggy and need changing more often. Third, cloth diapers can be harder to use in public places and when traveling because you are having to store and carry the dirty diaper rather than throwing it away.
Ultimately, parents need to do what is best for their individual child and this may be cloth, disposable, or a combination of both.
