Your Auto Body Engine

February 8th, 2010

An engine is a power source that will turn something. In an automobile the engine turns parts in the transmission that passes it on to the wheels. A transmission converts an engines power to a useable force. Engines are made of many moving pieces that add to the performance. Without an engine a car or pickup could not move.

Engines need a fuel source to operate. This fuel source can be derived from many things. There are three main sources of fuel for your automobile, gas, diesel, and alcohol. These fuels have different effects on the environment as well as your engine. Alcohol is the hottest and cleanest burning fuel of the three; it is also the hardest on your engine. Diesel is the easiest burning fuel on your engine. Engines today can come with an electric backup motor. This motor runs off batteries and will power your car in certain circumstances.

Engines are built for economical goals and for power and performance. They come in many different sizes. There are small 2 cylinder engines up to high performance engines that have 12 cylinders for cars and pickups today. The 2 cylinder engine is very economical to operate why the 8 and 12 cylinder engines offer superior performance. Some people like to save money while others like the power that big engine gives them.

Each engine cylinder has a piston that goes up and down by a rod turning on a shaft. There is a series of valves that open and close allowing fuel in and exhaust out. There is spark and an explosion of burning fuel in the cylinder that rotates the engine.

Engines are the power source that operates everything in your car, pickup, SUV or van. It makes your tires rotate so you can move. The belt system powers items like air conditioning, power steering, alternators, and water pumps. These parts go on to power everything in your vehicle. Without an engine an automobile would be useless. A well working auto body engine is a must in the transportation world.

Finding a good mechanic that can do transmission and brake repair is essential to keeping your car running in a reasonable and cost efficient manner.  We all know how dependent we become on our vehicles.  Because of this dependency, it’s amazing how our lives get thrown out of kilter when our vehicles stop working.  The transmission in my Honda Odyssey van went at about 102000 kilometers.  It was a good thing, that we had been using our dealership for all our regular maintenance, as they were able to still get the work done under warranty, even though it was technical over the warranty period.  We used to have a very good mechanic in our neighbourhood, that was ver convenient.  Convenient, because I could drop the car off, and still walk home.

Get an Hid Kit to improve cars headlights

I was having trouble seeing at night while driving my car. I want more light for better visibility, so I started to do some research on the internet and found a solution.

Have you seen on the road that some cars have brighter lights than the standard yellowish lights? They are usually bright white or have a bluish tint on them. You can see these headlights on most of the luxury vehicles like BMW, Mercedes, and Acura’s. They come equipped with xenon hid lights right from the factory. They use a different technology than a regular halogen bulb. The xenon bulb produces a much brighter light that helps to see better while driving.

I found out that you can put these lights on any car with an aftermarket hid kit. Installation was a simple plug and play, and now I have brighter lights on my car. Plus it looks cool.

Yamaha Virago and repairs

Ok, having your own Yamaha Virago XV V twin is probably the coolest thing that could happen to you if you are into choppers. It is one of the most popular choppers in the US and I see them on the road very often. There are even clubs specially for owners of the Yamaha Virago. I am the proud owner of the Yamaha Virago 750 and I invest time and money when I can. You really have to know something about motorcycles if you want to buy a precious stone like these. The sad thing is that when you buy a motorcycle, the Yamaha Virago service manual is never included. They will provide you with a owners manual but that will not be of much help. Therefore you will really need a service repair manual.

Car loans and bad credit: what is possible

October 2nd, 2009

Are there auto loans for people with a bad credit? Normally you can not buy a car if you have a bad credit and low funds. This sounds logical as you can not buy things if you don’t have any money. However, because cars are very important for many people, there are some special programs on the market invented by banks and loan companies that makes it able for people with lower incomes to get a car loan. The loans are stretched out over longer periods which makes it possible to keep the monthly installments lower than usual and this makes it possible to pay for it. However, when you look at the long term, you will eventually pay more for the same car now only over a longer period of time. Don’t expect real bargains out there.

Should you buy a car from a buy here pay here?

Lately I am looking for a good buy here pay here auto dealer where I can buy myself a new car for a cheaper price than if i buy a car from a local car dealer. These dealers buy a large quantity of cars from auctions and get these cars cheaper than other dealers. They also tend to make less profit in selling cars than other dealers. They make their money because they are selling many cars instead of only one or two a day. Most buy here dealers will also provide you with a variety of financing options as not everybody is able to pay his car cash. The way to do it is first deciding how much money you can afford to pay for a car before you go to these dealers. They will find you a car for your budget that will make you happy.

Repo Cars from a Dealer

September 29th, 2009

Used car dealerships that offer repo cars for sale are in abundance these days. Because selling repo cars can be such a lucrative business there are a lot of people that take advantage of the options available when selling them. If a used car dealer actually purchases a repo car at auction they will usually end up paying less than half of what it is worth. Since the car is a repo car it means that it was just recently financed. Because most cheap or old cars don’t need to be financed repo cars are usually only about 2-5 years old. This is a huge benefit when re-selling the vehicle. Most people assume that since the car is new and has low mileage that it is obviously in good condition. A lot of time these cars may be in perfect condition but that’s not always the case.

Unannounced Car Insurance Verification

Several states perform a sneaky check that anyone breaking the law will not be able to get away with. What they do is send you a letter asking to provide proof of insurance for the day that was listed. If you are caught without insurance or don’t send anything in, it’s too late and you won’t be able to slip by the system.

This method of checking for auto insurance policies is a great way to catch people trying to get around the system and the law. It just goes to show that no matter what you do to try and hide, they will always find a way to catch you. That is why it is a great and very smart idea to just suck it up and purchase auto insurance. Take a look at Arlington Auto Insurance Guide for information on car insurance along with videos and news.

Once your teenager has a permanent driver’s license, it is an option to put them on your existing auto insurance policy. While this will still be fairly expensive, your teenager will be able to reap in discounts with multiple cars and being a safe driver. However, if you drive an expensive car, adding your teenager onto your auto insurance policy is not advised, because it will be extremely expensive and simply not worth it. This is where it is advised to buy a less-expensive car and insure it in their name, rather than to adding them to yours.

This is a great option because less expensive cars are an extremely lower risk than more expensive cars, therefore you will get a much better deal to get a cheaper car and you also won’t have to worry about any accidents that your teenager is involved in ruining your nice car. Repairs are almost always more affordable on older cars than new cars. Take a look at Auto Insurance in Stockton and find some great information about auto insurance.
