Women love looking good and with looking good comes the use of make-up. Make-up is a woman's best friend when it comes to covering up blemishes and highlighting her face's features. And even if the use of make-up is prevalent today, a lot of women are still at a loss of the correct way to apply make-up. To help the women who are confused on how to apply their make-up the right way, some makeup tips are mentioned below.

To start right, you have to ensure that the make-up's canvas, otherwise known as your face, is clean. Remove the traces of old make-up before applying a new one. And see to it that your hands and makeup applicators are clean. The secret to a great make-up is the right choice of base or foundation color. You should choose a foundation color which is closest to your skin tone for a natural look.

Before you apply the foundation, always use a moisturizer on your face. This will trap the moisture in your skin. Let the moisturizer seep through your skin for at least three minutes before putting foundation. Don't forget to moisturize the skin near your eyes. Putting moisturizer will help keep your skin supple.

The next step to applying make-up is to apply the foundation. As previously stressed, you have to find a foundation closest to your natural skin tone for a natural looking make-up. Use sheer foundation to even out your skin tone and cover every area of your face. It is best if you use your finger tips or a make up sponge to apply the foundation. In applying foundation, dot the major parts of your face and blend as you go. Ensure that everything blends and has the same color tone. If you have dark circles under your eyes, just apply a small amount to it and blend well.

If necessary, you can also use a concealer. A concealer is used to cover up skin imperfections like small pimples, broken capillaries, pimple marks, and dark circles. Only apply concealer to the problem areas and blend it using a sponge. When you choose your concealer, make sure that it too matches your skin tone.

After concealing all your blemishes, you can now dust in powder to set your make-up in place. See to it that your powder matches your foundation and is in a translucent shade. You can apply the powder with a cosmetic puff or with a brush. Take extra care in putting powder because putting too much can make your face look unnatural.

Now, you can apply the blusher. What a blusher achieves is that it gives an overall glow to your face. If you use a creamy foundation, it is recommended to use a creamy blusher. To apply the blusher correctly start at the apple of your cheeks and flick your wrist lightly outwards. Done the right way, the application of the blusher can change a person's facial shape.

Next in line is to accentuate the eyes with mascara and eyeshadow. Mascara should be applied first so that it will be easier to clean your eyelids if small particles drop. Before applying mascara curl your lashes to widen then up. Don't use too much mascara and only use the tip of the wand to stroke your lashes. Wait for the first coat to dry before applying the next. To apply eyeshadow, first apply an eyeshadow base over the eyelid to prevent creasing. Then with an appropriate color, brush in the eye shadow according to the effect desired.

Last but not least, you can now apply your lipstick. A well-applied lipstick is enough to change how you look. First line your lips with a pencil a shade darker than the actual lipstick. Then apply the lipstick with a brush and dust it with powder for a long lasting result.

These steps are the steps for applying make-up the right way. Choosing the colors which fit you is fun but remember to only use a makeup set which works for you and is hypoallergenic.
