Air cleaners are our safety measure from the attack of airborne contaminants because of the present environmental hazards and emissions caused by development and industries. They further reduce chances of people acquiring asthma, allergies, respiratory illnesses and possibly cancer. There are four types of purifying techniques available in the market namely HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Arrestor) filters, Germicidal UV lamps, Ozone generators and most importantly, Ionizers. HEPA filters are recommended because of its 99% of precision when it comes to airborne contaminants elimination, it can also capture particulates that are 0.3 microns and larger. Another type is the germicidal UV lamp that destroys viruses, bacteria, molds and other micro- organisms in the surroundings. Ozone generators on the other hand neutralize gaseous substances like paint, smoke, smog and other VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds). The last type is the ionizer or ionic air filter that effectively captures dusts, dander, pollen and other particulates in the air thereby giving a cleaner quality air. These air filters can be combined altogether for maximum performance.

Ionizer specifically works on the principle of electrically charging its plates to release negative ions that will bond with positive ions in the form of dusts, pollens, dander and other contaminants in the air. This bondage will result to the heavy weight of particles that will slowly settle on floors and walls. Residues can easily be cleaned via vacuum or frequent dusting. It should always be cleaned to prevent these particles from returning to the air. You don’t have to worry about filter replacements because there are no air filters to be replaced in the first place; all you have to do is to always clean plates to prevent clogging of particles that will lead to system failure. You should also consider the room coverage because each purifier operates on a specific range. There are air cleaners that cover small- medium room area like 350-400 square feet and 800-1200 square feet depending on the capacity of the unit while there are others that cover large rooms or even the whole house. You can buy these for $150.00 or higher depending on the retailer and the manufacturer.

You can start living smart everyday by purchasing ionic air filters. But if you have any uncertainties, you can always look for product reviews widely available and let it be your guide. These air cleaners are our sure way of improving the quality of indoor air. You will have no problems purchasing it as it is widely available in the market.
