A Brown Leather Tub Chair For the Undecided

Some homemakers love to fill a room with furniture that copies the popular styles from the middle of the 20th Century. Sometimes, however, they find that their spouses do not share their particular taste in "good furniture." For example, such a homemaker might have a spouse that favors a different sort of furniture--the sort created by designers that used simple, Danish modern furniture design as their basic model.

Well now one brown leather tub chair can please both that modern thinking man and his more traditional wife. It is a chair with a seat that has been covered in distressed glove leather. It is 29 inches wide, 25 inches deep and 35 inches high, and it costs $795. Readers that would like to study the picture of that "leather tub on wheels" should check out the Restoration Hardware web site.

The same site contains pictures of four or five comfy chairs. One of those pictures suggests the manner by which any lover of second hand goods might become a great designer. It offers a close up view of a reproduction. It is a reproduction of an English chair from the early 1900s. Someone had found the original item at an antique fair in Nottingham, England.

Another comfortable leather seat that visitors can view is a French Wing Chair. Kona leather covers the high back and rolled arms of that chair. With a width of 28 inches, and a depth of 30 inches, this Winged piece offers about the same amount of seating space as the tub described earlier. However this chair's 53 inch height allows it to tower over any wheeled tub.

For consumers that would like to purchase a comfortable armchair, a Library Chair may be a great choice. You can find them covered in Brompton Cocoa leather and a variety of other covering choices. Yet the editors of the RH catalog did not want consumers to think that all of their toughest seats were designed for either the home worker or the avid reader.

The early spring catalog from Restoration Hardware contains a clear shot of an Oveido Chaise. Vintage Cigar leather covers the rolled cushion of this chaise. Judging from its 59 inch depth, the creator of this piece must have had very long-legs.

This long chaise illustrates how a comfy seat does not need to create a warm and cozy setting. Instead, it can provide a room with a stylish lounging area.
